i wont lie i hold quite a bit of fondness for house manderly. like wyman manderly's meeting with davos skyrocketed him into being one of my fav schemers in this series. like yesss people in story assume wyman is a craven and an idiot who can be pushed into submission but thats not true!! he uses those expectations against people to disarm them into seeing him as not much of a threat. he even plays into these concepts like the pie scene is one of his most iconic ofc because like what a ballsy move to disappear three frey family members and then appear at a wedding with three massive pies and ask a singer to play the song about a man's son being turned into a pie and served to him. and the whole family playing into the mummer's show in the merman's court is soooo good too like okay his granddaughters are down to perform all this to backstab the people who killed their uncle. literally awesome. anyway merman sigil + "the merman's court" name + the fact all of the guards wield tridents and not spears. chefs kiss they have the pizzazz they know how to perform. definitely a house that resembles the families in the reach but are loyal northmen all the same.

I feel like some of y’all feminize Aeron TOO much🧍🏻 like Ryan is a beautiful beautiful man but to me he doesn’t even seem that feminine-looking

Aeron is not some uwu little coquette boy, and some of y’all are treating him like a damsel in distress who needs the big strong man to come and save her when he’s literally a knight and pulled the Westeros equivalent to a gun on Davos the moment he got a bit angry. When I’m reading some fanfics/posts/idk anything, it feels like I’m basically just reading about a straight ship.

And sometimes with the omegaverse fics, it’s seems like just an excuse to feminize him even more (p.s. this is NOT hate at all, I dabble in omegaverse myself sometimes i just have diff preferences)

Ofc everyone is entitled to their own preferences of the ship and what not it just sometimes feels like y’all are assigning all these feminine roles onto Aeron simply because he has long hair and a pretty face 🧍🏻 Like put my man Davos in a dress I feel he could rock that shit. That little brat could make the perfect wife (jk)

Aeron, who’s told by his uncle that he is marrying for the perceived good of their house, to a Blackwood girl and being unable to wriggle out of it. He’s not the heir, he’s an expendable relative to sell off for some peace in the riverlands.

Its a sick sense of irony that strikes him when he’s told. Aeron’s struggled with loving a Blackwood and not being able to pursue that Because he’s a Blackwood, only to have that struggle unknowingly thrown in his face. Everyone thinks he looks sick and sad bc he’s marrying a Blackwood - but it’s because he’s marrying the wrong Blackwood.

Give me an Aeron whose married to Davos’ cousin or godforbid sister, who is so close and still so far, whose duty not only to his house but also his marriage binds him in knots.

((And give me a Davos whose determined to ruin this wedding, to not have to share Aeron with one of his own house bc it’s liveable to go against the families’ feud, but his own?))

Darkness surrounded the dungeons with only a few torches to provide some light. A young child with a greyscale on her cheek came rushing to one of the prisoners, hiding a book in her possession. The old man sat up from his cell, greeting the child. “What is this book about, Princess?“

“The Minstrel and her Knight?” Davos has heard of a song sharing the same name yet unfamiliar of it's origin. 

Shireen nodded, thinking that the Knight might like a story about a Knight during the time of war. “It was the story about a Targaryen posing as a minstrel and a Hightower knight at the peak of the dance of the dragons. They loved each other but their family and duty torn them apart.”

Author's note:

I thought it will be fun to have portions of the story be written like they are ‘historical accounts’ from Westeros since the Fire and Blood book is like that. Gwayne Hightower deserves to have more fics and here is my contribution. There will be some canonical changes like Daemon and Rhea having a daughter, Targaryens having lilac/indigo/violet eyes(like in the books), Rhea dying from an accident (like in the book) and Ser Gwayne appearing in some scenes when he should be in Oldtown in the canon timeline. Gwayne is also not the heir of Oldtown like in the books, I'm unsure if he was the heir in the show. The story will officially begin next chapter where Rhaella (OFC) is sixteen and in between episode 5-6 in HoTD where Rhaenyra is already married to Laenor and pregnant with her second child (Lucerys).
